Windows Vista reaching end-of-life April 11th

As many new sources are reporting, Windows Vista is reaching "end of life" (EOL) soon, on April 11th 2017. After this point, there will be no more security updates or fixes from Microsoft and all support will cease.

If you are one of the few still using Vista, this is critical. While your computer will continue to function, your risk of infection and compromise by malicious software will skyrocket. What we saw when we went through this with Windowx XP was that those with malicious intent held onto a bunch of exploits until the end, keeping them secret so that they'd never get fixed. After XP's EOL, all these exploits started being used aggressively since there was no hope for users. No doubt we'll see the same play out with Vista.

Traditionally, once an operating system maker ends support for a given version, then other software makers follow suite. Firefox and Google are already ending Vista support, and things will only get worse... causing the list of security holes and liabilities on a Vista system to grow and grow.

If you are on a Vista computer still, it's imperative that you look to upgrade ASAP. I can assist you in finding a suitable replacement computer within your budget. Alternatively, we can discuss other options such as erasing Vista from your current computer and using Linux instead which will also avoid the problems and keep you safe.
