Recently the German Federal Office for Information Security ran an audit of the five major desktop web browsers to evaluate them on a number of key security features and guidelines. Of all the browsers, only Mozilla's Firefox received a passing grade.
For years I have recommended Firefox as my browser of choice, for many reasons. Mozilla is truly an altruistic group, non-profit with users' best-interests in mind. Unfortunately other browsers, including Google's Chrome, have become increasingly focused on serving the company behind them, with the mining of user data and browsing habits, and lacking key features. Many have come to the conclusing that Chrome has now effectively become malicious spyware. Lately Firefox has even surpassed Chrome in performance, futher cementing its position as the top browser of choice among those in the IT industry.
